PATRICIA O'BLENES /photographer

My photography journey began in childhood when my Dad introduced me to my first 35mm camera.
I went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
Post-graduation, I honed my skills in portrait and wedding studios, as well as in the darkrooms at General Motors. There, I transitioned into a photographer role, documenting test lab imagery, internal communications (including org charts and meetings), and retirement events.
While freelancing for C&G Newspapers, a staff photographer position opened, launching my career in community journalism. It has been a true privilege to meet extraordinary people and visually tell their stories through my lens.
I live by Henri Cartier-Bresson's "decisive moment"—that fleeting peak of action and emotion where everything aligns to create a compelling image.
